The charming village of Saas-Fee in the Canton Valais is surrounded by impressive mountain peaks, most notably the Dom which is the highest mountain in Switzerland. The picturesque village has retained a typical chalet-style appearance and is completely car-free. The only forms of transport are horse drawn carriages and small electric vehicles. The resort has plenty to offer in alpine sports.
Choices range from summer skiing over mountain biking to an impressive 350km of hiking trails in one of the most scenically beautiful and diverse valleys. You can also travel to the top of the Allalin – the Glacier mountain – and enjoy lunch in the world’s highest revolving restaurant or to visit the ice pavilion situated at 3,500m above sea level.
